XXX halfstack with stereo straight cab
Gotta love Craigslist
how does the 5150 sound with the matching cab IYO?
ive heard guys say they hate it cuz it scoops mids and others say they hate it cuz it has harsh mids. lol
im looking at getting a used 6505+ head with the matching cab.

Re: Which Peavey Amp do you have
Thanks for the warm welcome, guys!
About the 6505 cabs, I personally like them. I definitely don't hear anything harsh about them, and I actually have the mid dialed down on the 5150, so they definitely don't scoop.
I'm all about using matching heads and cabs, though, but that's probably because I can't afford a Marshall lead cabinet or fit a Mesa oversized in my car.

- A section of 'the wall'. I need to take an updated picture since half of the amps aren't present in this picture.

That classic 50 with 10" x4 looks really interesting, Short Circuit. I've never seen one like that. Could you comment on how a 10" x4 plays like in comparison to a 12" x1 cab?

Re: Which Peavey Amp do you have
This was the only 50 watt Peavey Classic on Kijiji in my area with 4-10" speakers. The rest had 2 -12" speakers
The only amp that I can compare it to is a Fender Bassman 50 watt with 4 ten inch speakers. I just bought it so I have not been able to do much comparison with another tube amp with a 12" speaker.
The amp sounded just as good as the Fender and could get very loud if I wanted it to. It seems to push the sound out where my solid state Bandit just got louder. At one point I could feel the sound on the back of my pants, if you know what I mean.
Its just an all round great amp.

Re: Which Peavey Amp do you have
I just got rid of my Marshall Vintage Modern (great amp but has to be turned up WAY too loud to hit the sweet spot). I have always had a Peavey 6505 (GREAT AMP period) and am now alternating it with the new 6534 (I'm in heaven with either amp). I also have a H&K transistor Blues 60 and a wonderful Gallien Krueger transistor Backline 100 guitar amp I use for smaller gigs.
