fellow forum members appreciation thread.

Post by XloydtilldeathX666 » Tue Apr 26, 2011 5:27 pm

i mainly post in the guitar amp forum. sometimes in club peavey. never anywhere else as of now.

since i have amps of other brands, i do alot of searching and reading on other forums, but this is the only one im a member of as of now aside from blackstar(i no longer own a blackstar now).

anyway, i see some real jerks on other boards, lots of really bad infighting way worse than anything thats ever gone on here.. extreme trolls. people passing off opinions for facts way worse than ever happens here, etc.. the pther boards for the most part are hard to find real info on. the other brand specific boards seem to totally smash other brands too. we here seem to have our peavey biases, but not like what i see on other boards.

anyway, i just wanna say thanks to everyone here for being so awesome.

I also agree with Xloyd & Skynyrd
I have not been here that long but this seems to be a more mature forum with no "cliques"
It's a cool place to be

Thanks X, that is exactly how I feel. There are a bunch of good guys and gal! on this forum and I really do appreciate their willingness to share info. We all have different experiences and gear, but I find it interesting to hear what others do and how you change or modify or fix things. The key thing here is that we respect each other and avoid the trash talking and garbage that plagues so many other forums. You guys all seem like family to me, and if I could make one request from you all, post more pics of gear and projects! It satisfies the voyeur in all of us! :D

I agree, this board is the best one I have been on. All the others are filled with people calling each other names, or slamming others opinions because they were different. Almost no useful information gets out because it turns into a flame fest. I have asked some noob questions, because I am a noob to Peavey amps and tube amps in general. I was hesitant to even ask my first question here because I was afraid I would get flamed and not get any info. That is not to say I will not ask noob questions because my head is full of questions that are prpbably obvious or easy to veteran tube users.

I am glad I signed on to this board, everyone here is very friendly and ready to help.

I too hope Enzo is ok. If what's going on has been talked about I missed it.

When I was in the hospital I appreciated the kind words from everyone, including secesh, and I of course hope everyone here remains healthy and happy.

Love this forum. I have learned a ton from several members with special props going out to CiC!

Never thought much about it but agree with OP that I've seen very very little trolling/stupidity on this forum and major respect among members towards everyone. I can directly relate several items to my participation on this forum:

1.). Exploring different tube combos for my c30 or any tube amp for that matter;
2.) Learned much about my c30....passive eq, replacement speaker options, etc
3.) The value of an eq pedal
4.). Wampler Pinnacle....never even heard of these pedals before now own one and it is simply awesome!
5.) Wgs speakers...love that you CAN get excellent speakers mfgd in the US! Never heard of these guys until I started using this forum.

It's been awesome. I only wish I was a member a long time ago...learning curve about tone, tube amps, headroom, etc would have been greatly accelerated!

Good thread Xloyd and we should all thank Peavey for putting on such a classy board and heading to standards that most other boards don't do. Years back when they 1st started this board the format was totally different and many would come in here and start flaming and cursing and Peavey shut them down and kicked some off that wouldn't cohere and it became a standard of excellence that they have kept going over the years with Roger,Gene (ex-retired) and many other great Peavey employee's that held this site to a very friendly family oriented source of information. At one time it was in jeopardy of being canned so be thankful we are still able to communicate about Amplifiers. It is truely one of a kind and as many boards as I've visited it is by far the best run and friendliest board out there bar none and even though I may argue with a few of you every now and then I still respect everyone on this board and hope they realize there's no pun intended it's just Amp talk and there will always be difference in opinions when talking Electronics but I enjoy all of the posters on this board.

Enzo said on his phone message he was having some Medical setbacks and he would be back by the 24th so lets hope he's ok. He taught me tons over the years and if I had a penny for everyone he helped fixing amps I'd be a Billionaire and maybe Trillionaire so hope he's ok and should be back soon. Hang in there Enzo :!:
