This may be a repeat post- sorry, new to this site.
I am an advanced novice and purchased the Peavey Studio Pro 112 ( no tubes).
I notice an ongoing HUMMMMM whenever I power it on, only minimally affected by switches on high gain and persists even when supersat is cranked down.

Is this a problem with all solid state amps?? I also noticede it on a loer end new Roland cube.
I have to admit the sound is driving me crazy;however once cranked up to playing settings, not so not so noticeable. I bought some new cables...have not used them yet.

Any ideas, or is this the way these soid state amps crank on???

Fact that you have two solid state amps with hum issue points to........

Noise interference from the electric circuit you're using.

Try to find separate circuit free of other electric appliances.

Classic is probably correct. My Studio Pro Red Stripe is dead quiet.... I bought and returned aVypyr 30 because I couldn't take the noise relative to my SP. My SP is also quieter than my Cube 30x that even has an internal noise gate. This speaks to the quality of the red stripe TransTube lineup.... Perfect for the Studio.... Not as convinced by the new TTs....
