Peavey Special 130 troubleshooting

Post by Ricksanchez » Mon Mar 14, 2016 8:43 pm

Hey all! I've had my Peavey special 130 for several years now and have been very pleased with the sound considering the affordable price, however it recently quit on me. It doesn't make any sound at all now, not even a hum to indicate that it's recieving input. I know very little about troubleshooting but I eliminated the basics and started exploring for any red flags. When I opened the spring reverb I noticed one of the springs was not attached. Anyone ever have this happen? Could this be my problem or just an additional problem? Any tips for fixing or info in general would be hugely appreciated. Cheers!

That will only affect the reverb. You need a new reverb pan.

As to no sound, is the speaker OK? Are the speaker wires intact? Does the power light come on?
