Peavey Heritage VTX --TUBE AMP--

I'm quite a noob when it comes to amp issues, so here it goes, let's see if I can explain what is happening to see if I can be helped here...

When on the Rhythm channel (Amp is not infront of me right now, but the clean channel). The amp works fine, however when I try to use the lead channel(Distorted), the amp gives off a very high pitched sound along with what I can only describe as 2 squirrels fighting.

Any help will be much appreciated!!! THANKS!!!!

When was the last time it had tube tune-up ?

Enzo is a Professional Amp Tech with his own shop in Lansing Michigan.

He's thinking it's one of the "Early Peavey" amps equipped with solid state pre-amp and tube power.

Solid State Pre-Amp........

Recommend Office Visit with Friendly Local Amp Doctor

As amps age (and your amp is old).......

They require replacing capacitors (caps) and resistors

Your amp in need of Full Physical & recommended rejuvenation

I used to live down the road from your shop as a child. So not going to be hard to get there.
