Rockit Pink Peavey Vandenberg

My first Peavey I ever purchased was in 1991. It was a Rockit Pink Vandenberg Signature 2nd Generation with a Kahler 2730 Spyder. I hated the color but could not put it down after I picked it up and eventually ended up buying it that day. Through the years I eventually settled into the auto body / refinishing profession and decided to change the color of this guitiar to a metallic jade green. The color was beautiful and I played this guitar until I wore the frets out on it. I had a local highly recommended Luthier replace the frets for me and he basically destroyed the guitar. The original feel was no longer there so I sold the guitar for basically a song. Since then I have been purchasing guitars regularly and have 25 in my collection. Strats, Pauls, Wolfgangs, Specials, Soloists, Tracers, Nitros and Teles. Everything except one...The Vandenberg. These guitars are so hard to find today and here's the funny part. I am looking for the Pink one now! That particular guitar and I have deep connection now and I would love to have one again. Generation 1 or 2 is fine but I definately want it to be the original pink color. If anyone knows where I can find one of these, please let me know. Thanks, Bryan

Hello Rainer, fellow Vandenberg appreciateur. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. It's great to hear from other fans of the Vandenberg guitar. Obviously there are some fans of this guitar out there which makes them so hard to find. I've noticed when I do run into one on a rare occasion, they have been horribly abused. Missing whammy bars, string blocks missing, broken and / or in backwards, backplates MIA, or they just plain look like they fell out of the gig van on the interstate in front of a convoy of tractor trailers. These guitars have been used extensively due to their playability which is a good thing. I like it when people that do own these guitars show them off also. I can understand also if they choose not to share there babies with the rest of us for fear of being hounded to sell, but if there are any of you out there that aren't willing to sell but just want to boast and brag that's fine with me. I promise that I won't harass you to sell unless you offer to sell. Pictures are cool as well. Vandenbergs Rock!

I don't do Facebook, but if you look at the "show your gear" thread my black bolt-on Vandy is in the "family portrait" along with the Razer, my Peavey amps, and my lesser guitars (like my MIJ Jackson :D ).

My Vandy was a pawn shop find, and the neck looked like it had never been cleaned or the strings changed (came with original case, too, what happened :?: :?: ). A previous owner had cared enough to customize it a bit, though. Mine has the addition of coil tap and out-phase via toggle switches that don't match anything I've seen in the archived manuals.

I may be luckier than the forum member who goes by the handle Lucky Man. I got that guitar with case out the door for $200

I would of been all over that Pink Vandy like white on rice! Wow a real wicked beauty and very clean. As already stated you very rarely find them looking like that. I would be interested to know roughly how many were produced as they are seriously rare.

Don't if someone is still looking for a pink vandenberg, but i have mine for sale. I have him for 15 years now and didn't play on it the last 7 years. It's in good shape, if someone is interested i can post some pics and more information.
