IPR AMPS

Post by mike james » Mon May 16, 2011 12:57 pm

I have the IPR 1600 and 3000 and love them. We use them for DJ and band work. My questions is do we have a time frame for the release of the 4500 and 6000? I have a need for a couple of larger amps.

Welcome to the forums and welcome to the club! I have a 1600 & two 3000s, my partner has a two 1600s and my other partner has a 3000. Currently I am using the one 3000 to power my SP218s in stereo, the other 3000 for the mids on my SP3s and the 1600 on the highs. I could really use a 6000 for the bins and a 4500 for the mids. :D

Component shortage my friend. Simply put suppliers are keeping less in stock and capacity to manufacture parts seem to be slow going. Least thats one of the trends I'm seeing from my transportation logistics desk here at work. Its effecting the entire electronics industry not just peavey. I'm hoping soon there will be a break in the shortage and we can start to see some of these higher power IPRs.

Yes it is a bit of a conundrum and a bit of a Catch 22 at the same time. If more parts were available; employment would rise, sales would increase, and the world economy would improve.

Its a frustrating thing. What it means from a transportation POV is there was a lack of freight to move so shipping companies dropped rates last year to compete, many trucking guys went out of business because they couldnt keep up with cheap rates. Today there is more freight in the market but less trucks to move the freight. Transportation costs more to move freight and shippers/suppliers are trying to keep costs down, less hours, less personel to manufacture components. Supply cannot keep up with demand. Plus the Canada dollar is worth more than the US dollar, import taxes for overseas shipments, etc. All factor in to some degree.

***This point of view doesnt reflect anything in particular with Peavey to be clear to all. Just my own observations in general from where I sit. I can't wait to try out the new IPR's for myself too!

All the best!

We have the PV 900, PV 1500, PV 2600, along with IPR 1600 and 3000. Can't wait to change out my PV amps for the bigger IPRS! Our whole setup is Peavey. Mixer, amps, crossovers, speakers, subs.

Hope they release a wave of them soon. And thank you for the welcome.
Mike
