want to turn1978 xr600 mixer/preamp section into a pedal

Post by mcgyverish » Thu May 23, 2013 3:29 am

I have a xr600 from1978 thay doesnt work, but i would like to take the preamp and turn it into a pedal. Can someone help me in providing power to the board that holds the eq/ preamp dont need the amp to work i am just trying to power up the face. What kind of power should i use. Im somewhat novice, but can usually "mcgyver" things into other cool things. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK, so you have looked inside, and realize the mixer panel is really large, and would not fit into a common size pedal?

COntact customer service at peavey and ask for the schematic. I am assuming this s a real XR600, not an XR600B or later?

Look in your mixer. I think you will find a four wire cable connecting the mixer to the power amp. The four wires are:
+15v
-15v
ground
signal

That's it. YOu need a split supply providing 15vDC.
