Complete newbie to using mixers and such. To many years in construction and playing bagpipes with no hearing protection has done a number on my ears. I have ordered an Xvive U4R4 in-ear monitor system to use with the 8600 that our group uses. But with that being said, I have tried using headphones out of the front monitor jack but get no sound. Xvive to be here tomorrow and hoping to work out the bugs for a gig that we have on Friday. Any ideas why I am not getting sound out of the ear phones and is this where I would plug in the Xvive system when it gets here?
Thanks in advance.

XR8600 does not have a headphones output, so that is why you get no sound in phones.
The monitor out jack is a line level signal. It needs to go to another amplifier for monitor speakers. Your in ear system is likely a small amplifier made for the ear pieces, in any case I suspect it wants a line level signal. Read its directions.

System arrived this afternoon. Was able to plug it into the monitor jack and worked fine.

Got the Xvive system and plugged it into the front monitor jack and it worked fine. Now, to convince the other three that we dont need floor monitors.
