Periodically my Vypyr Tube 60 will have no sound upon start up. it is not a tube or power amp issue as there is also no sound from the headphone jack. Sometimes it will clear up with a restart or by messing with the tuner/mute pedal on the Sanpera II.
Any thoughts???
Vypyr Tube 60 No Sound???
Re: Vypyr Tube 60 No Sound???
Have you tried it without the sanpera II hooked up? It could be the sanpera not the amp.

Yes, also when trying it with sanpera be sure that sanpera cable is fully seated in the sockets, I have had that give me troubles before.

It is failing to boot up , I don't know if it is the processor or something else in the chain but mine locks up usually on the first power on. I just turn it off and back on just the nature of the beast and it gets worse the colder it is, but it is still my main gig amp........ LOVE THE TONE

Re: Vypyr Tube 60 No Sound???
I have the most recent update (1.66).
I also had one instance when the amp froze up. I turned it off then right back on and it was ok. I read on this forum that you shouldn't keep your cable plugged into the amp because it can cause an issue with the boot-up. It hasn't happened since.
In regard to the Sanpera, I checked the midi socket, and the cable was snug. I think what the issue was is that the sensitivity on the volume/tuner rocker pedal was too sensitive. I took care of that and so far, so good.
I love the amp thus far, and I am looking to gig out with it soon. I am hoping it doesn't give me any issues...

Actually the Peavey firmware numbering is confusing, 1.59 is the newest. For some reason Peavey has higher numbers on the older betas.

Re: Vypyr Tube 60 No Sound???
Software and firmware use build numbers, or release numbers, as identifiers. That number always increases with the next build.
1.59 is that latest Production firmware. 1.59 is officially supported by Peavey. The VYPYR FAQ topic notes this.
Still 1.66 was built at a point in time after 1.59 was built. 1.66 added new features or changed some of the firmware code since 1.59. 1.66 was released as a beta (test) firmware. 1.66 did not test to Peavey's satisfaction, so 1.66 was never declared Production firmware. If 1.66 had tested to Peavey's satisfaction, it would have become the latest Production firmware.
