Celestion Vintage 30 in a Vypyr 30
Celestion Vintage 30 in a Vypyr 30
Has anyone tried the V30 speaker in a Vypyr 30 ? I am very interested to hear anyone's views who has done so, particularly how the speaker might (adversely ?) colour the amp's modeled tones.

I didn't install a Celestion Vintage 30 in a Vypyr 30 but I did install a Vintage 10 in a Vypyr 15.
It wasn't exactly what I was looking for so I fixed up another Vypyr 15 with a Jensen Mod 10-50. YMMV--the Classic 30 may produce what you are looking for.
The Vintage 10 sounded great for the British models as well as the high gain models. It sucked the Fender out of the Fender models and made the Peavey Classic and Bad Cat models a bit harsher. The Vintage 10 provided a noticeable volume boost over the stock Peavey 8" I think that the Vintage 30 and the Vypyr 30s stock Peavey Blue Marvel are fairly close in efficiency, so that there won't be a noticeable volume difference.

ive done the v30 and g12k100 change, check the threads io posted samples. Overall the v30 is harsher, but for me since i like warmer tones ive been back on stock. It's good but does have a thinness at first
