ACT Profiler in Revalver

Post by gothmessiah » Thu Jan 29, 2015 6:01 pm

Hi, i dont know why it have not been posted, but at Namm 2015 i believe Peavey Revalver staff introduced his new ACT Profiler, which claims to capture the actual sound of a Real Amp + Real Cab + Mic and profile the whole chain and use it in Revalver, just like the Kemper Amp guys did with his Kemper Profiling Amp. And will be shared with all the members of Revalver online. :D :D :D

My questions are:

When is peavey gonna launch this feature, and at what costs?
Do we owners of Peavey Revalver 4 Producer Edition will have to buy this feature as a complement or just gonna launch as a Free Upgrade for existing Revalver 4 users.

Kemper guys...Watch out!, here comes your competition.

Hello guys

I have a little bit of information to share with you:

- We don't have an official date for the release yet. The profiler is in the works, but I've heard (and tested it) the results and I'm sure they will please you!
- The ACT Profiler will be released as a regular ReValver 4 module. It is not another piece of software, it will work inside ReValver. It will not be free, it will be priced as a module.

Hope this helps.

This will be basically a sampler? I can record with a mic , my amp, and cab, and use it as profiled output? Because I have and old Standup Radio cab, that I transformed into a combo amp and would love to use that as an amp sound. Also can this be used as a standalone preset? Unlike the ACT profiler that have to be resampled each time before using it as a preset. I suppose it will be a recorded track on my Magix and then load into the revolver module?

Is it like amp matching in the Axe and Bias? Just a matching-EQ put after the chain?
Or is it like the Kemper and can it profile everything from scratch?

You will be able to sample your mic'ed amp and/ or load a sample of a guitar recording.

You've got my interest :).

Being in the Bias beta testers group I have asked the same question there for months and they dodge the question like crazy. Specially when I ask why it costs $100 more up on the price of the normal product to have their matching included.

Don't get me wrong, it gets awesome results, the axe has just it with a matching-block now for years and people still like it, home-guitar players have been doing it with ozone and programs like that for years.... and now since it is included in Bias people start posting presets with them which makes it way more useful in my opinion.

So if it's actually more (and even 'from scratch', without having to dial in an amp-sim first) you would have the guitar-vst world listening!

Wow...I am VERY interested in this. Are the results predicted to be those comparable to the Kemper Profiler? If so, TAKE my money!! Revalver 4 definitely continues to amaze me. I'm truly excited for this.

Is there a tentative release date-range btw? I hope it's not another 6 months we'll have to wait.
