Anybody know where to get the Peavey 1990-1993 catalogs?
Anybody know where to get the Peavey 1990-1993 catalogs?
Peavey has manuals, but I don't think any old catalogs listed on the website. Anybody know where to find them? I'm registered with vintaxe.com which has a lot, but they only have the '92.

I have most all of them plus many price list. I am not interested in selling them but maybe I could scan just what you are looking for???
I was hoping that Peavey could use mine and scan them all and have them available as info for all forum users. The problem is they will weigh very very much. I also have Catalogs as I used to go to both NAMM shows twice a year and I loaded up on Peavey stuff since 1979.

It would be very cool if Peavey could make old catalogs, flyers and past issues of Monitor available online.

Thanks for the info. I was looking for Destiny and Vandenberg catalog pics if you have those that would be cool. I have the '92 catalog - just looking for the others.
Either way, I also enjoy looking at old catalogs, and having them would make customer service easier I'm sure.

Charlie, If Peavey ever wants to do it, I'll relay the goods in my truck the next time I'm down your way...pvholic wrote:I have most all of them plus many price list. I am not interested in selling them but maybe I could scan just what you are looking for???

I have a good many guitar magazines from the '80's, '90's and on. I've been looking for ads and information on older Peavey products recently and surprised at what all cool stuff I've found. I have a few old Monitor magazines which are neat too. An online library of all that stuff would be sweet.
I don't have a lot, but I wouldn't mind scanning what I had if anyone was interested in something specific.
Here's a couple samples.

Bump
Any luck with some older catalogs? I would imagine Peavey has them all on PDF file, but most companies don't seem to list them.

Ok, let me tell you how this should be done.
Has anyone ever seen how Ibanez has done this?
Just take a look at this: http://www.ibanez.co.jp/anniversary
This is how it should be done. (btw: for some reason, they (Ibanez) have removed the option to search for a specific model, so go figure: it was even better some years ago) By making available these old catalogs, they even confess they started as a "we can make you a copy for less money" Japanese copycat brand. But clearly, they are proud of their history.
Just my 2cts: today, a company should be about more than just: "this is my product, go out, and buy it"
Nowadays, with internet, social networks and forums like this, it is becoming more and more important for a company to deliver a total 'brand experience'. Opening a 'Peavey documents' area with product information is just one aspect.
Although i must say that they have already done a really great job in scanning all the 'archived manuals' that can be found in the archived manuals area. I have used that more than once (with > 20 'old' Peavey guitars & amps)
Besides that: it is history, and imho Peavey has a lot of history, and a lot of things to be proud of.
Of course: there is (possibly a lot of) money involved in scanning these documents, but for a huge company like Peavey, this should not be a problem. Most of this is 'catching up', and when up-to-date, cost is low, since 100% of today's publications are born digital, so adding stuff to the 'Peavey Library' (I hereby grant permission to use this term) from now on should be peanuts.
Hey Hartley, are you listening? It is your company! Make the Peavey Experience even better than it already is! I can guarantee it will cost money at first, but i am convinced it will make money in the end ...

Re: Anybody know where to get the Peavey 1990-1993 catalogs?
I own a vintage guitar fansite (washburn), and let me say that scanning catalogs PDF really isn't that hard or time consuming. I literally scanned 200 pages in one day and posted it on the net the next. And this just by myself putzing around one weekend.
I just like looking at older catalogs - it's fun. Some brands seem extremely hesitant to post older catalogs and I just don't understand. People are very interested in these types of extras, and they are actually very helpful to customer support for reference.
