CES 08: Peavey Unveils RiffMaster Guitar controller for PS2 Videogames

LAS VEGAS (CES) — Musical-instrument and sound-equipment innovator Peavey proudly introduces the AG RiffMaster Guitar Controller, a genuine life-size Peavey guitar modified for play with guitar-based music videogames on the Playstation2 computer entertainment system. The Peavey AG RiffMaster Guitar Controller features the sleek finish, dimensions and feel of a real Peavey guitar, providing a truly authentic music videogame experience. Crafted from natural maple, the neck features five colored fret buttons located among real frets and position markers on a genuine rosewood fretboard. The strum bar is strategically placed above the pickup and allows players to transfer smoothly from note to chord without missing a beat, while the whammy bar features a smooth, sturdy spring. The guitar strings have been removed, but the headstock of the AG RiffMaster Guitar Controller has real tuners for extra visual appeal.Using the same patented ArtGuitar printing system that applies custom images and graphics to real guitars in the Peavey Custom Shop (www.peaveycustomshop.com), the Peavey AG RiffMaster Guitar Controller brings exclusive artist designs to a guitar controller for the first time. The guitar controllers showcase 11 exclusive artwork designs, including iconic rock artists such as KISS, Pantera, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ozzy Osbourne and Megadeth. Gamers will soon be able to upload their custom graphics to the Peavey Custom Shop and design their own one-of-a-kind AG RiffMaster Guitar Controllers.Unlike other custom paint jobs, the ArtGuitar image lasts as long as the guitar because it is painted on using a quality finish that contains the same properties as the original paint on the guitar, and is followed by a professional clear coat and buffing by luthiers in the Peavey Custom Shop.
