Peavey Vypyr 75 Modeling Amp Wins Guitar World Gold Award

PEAVEY INT'L. HEADQUARTERS — The editors of Guitar World magazine have honored the Peavey VYPYR 75 modeling guitar amplifier with its Gold Award for Overall Value.

"Peavey's new Vypyr Series modeling amps are packed with so many sounds and features that they offer boom, rather than bang, for the buck," wrote Chris Gill in the August 2009 issue of Guitar World. "Although the Vypyr 75 costs little more than ? a boutique fuzz pedal, it provides guitarists with an instant collection of amps, stomp boxes and studio-quality effects."

The Peavey VYPYR Series dramatically redefines the power and scope of modern guitar amplification. VYPYR amplifiers are based on powerful 32-bit, floating-point SHARC processors that enable highly detailed, accurate modeling as well as vastly enhanced flexibility and features than ever before available in guitar amplification.

Peavey VYPYR Series amplifiers feature 24 amp channel models—clean and distorted channels of 12 popular amps for the first time anywhere—plus 11 editable preamp "stomp box" effects and 11 editable post-amp "rack" effects with dual-parameter control, global reverb and global delay. Players can add the optional Peavey Sanpera II foot controller to activate the on-board looper and expand the amp's 12 built-in presets to 400 programmable presets, with up to five simultaneous effects.

Music-product retailers from across the U.S. voted the Peavey VYPYR Series their Product of the Year in the annual Music Sound Awards, produced by industry journal Music Sound Retailer. The Peavey VYPYR Series also won the Instrument Amplifier of the Year award in the Music Sound Awards, and the Amplifier Line of the Year award from retailers who voted in Musical Merchandise Review (MMR) magazine's annual survey.
