Peavey Versarray Line Array Takes Honors in Readers' Choice Poll

PEAVEY INT'L. HEADQUARTERS—The readers of Live Sound International magazine and the pro-audio community at ProSoundWeb.com have honored the Peavey Versarray 112 in the first annual ProSoundWeb/Live Sound International Readers' Choice Product Awards.

The Peavey Versarray 112 line-array loudspeaker enclosure won the Readers' Choice Best Product Award in the Large Format Line Array category. Praised for its use of true ribbon drivers, innovative design features and versatility, the Versarray 112 provides high-fidelity sound reinforcement in live-music venues of all sizes, as well as on concert tours and in fixed installations.

The Versarray 112 line array utilizes two 4.75" ribbon drivers on a waveguide and a high-performance, lightweight 12" Black Widow woofer featuring a 4" voice coil and a neodymium magnet structure. High performance is the hallmark of the Versarray 112, with 1,000 watts program handling (2,000 watts peak) available for the LF section, and 160 watts program (320 watts peak) for the HF components. Each Versarray 112 module provides 90° H x 15° V coverage.

Peavey's patent-pending Ram Air Cooling design, a dissipation process that radiates heat away from the voice coil and speaker cone on the Versarray 112, helps achieve enhanced efficiency and power handling, and overall improved performance over conventional cone-type transducers. Versarray 112 enclosures are built from 13-ply Baltic birch, covered in a durable HammerHead exterior, and available in black or white finishes.

Versarray enclosures utilize special bracket-and-pin flying hardware in a highly flexible rigging system that allows full articulation of the enclosures. With this rigging system, users can adjust modules from 0 to 15 degrees, providing for a classic line array configuration or a number of angling, mounting and stacking options.

Peavey offers EASE Focus acoustic simulation software free for Versarray users at Peavey.com. EASE Focus creates two-dimensional representations of acoustical environments that aid in the configuration and modeling of line arrays. System installers can use the program to determine the proper flying or mounting points and the correct dispersion angles for the enclosures.

The Versarray 112 has been used at concert events such as Tim McGraw's Live Your Voice Tour, on the Jägermeister Mobile Stage, and in world-class music venues like Ground Zero Blues Club, the Mississippi Delta blues juke joint co-owned by Morgan Freeman.
