Legendary Public Enemy DJ/Producer Keith Shocklee Visits Peavey Headquarters

World-renowned music and audio manufacturer Peavey Electronics recently welcomed acclaimed DJ/producer Keith Shocklee to its headquarters in Meridian, MS.

As a founding member of the groundbreaking hip hop group Public Enemy with his friend and emcee Chuck D, Shocklee was named one of the greatest producers in hip-hop by Rolling Stonefor his work on the innovative albums It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Backand Fear Of A Black Planet.

Visiting the Peavey headquarters was like visiting family. We were welcomed with open arms, Shocklee says. In fact, it was Peavey equipment that Shocklee used when he began his career in music 40 years ago. As a kid in the early 70s, we used a Peavey guitar amp and column speakers at our community youth center DJ program. Early hip hop culture wasnt even called hip hop yet. As time went on, we used Peavey power amps to power our mobile sound system. And Chuck D designed our Spectrum City DJ crew name similar to the Peavey lettering.

Fresh off an appearance at last months DJ Expo in Atlantic City, NY, Peavey Electronics is a prominent name in the DJ industry. The manufacturer has unveiled cutting-edge products such as the high-frequency ribbon driver-equipped RBN Series loudspeakers, as well as the complete, easy to use Escort Series of portable PA systems, and more.

Keith has been a supporter of Peavey for decades now, shares Peaveys General Manager of Business Development, Tony Moscal. So its an honor to open our doors and share the Peavey experience with him.
