Peavey Electronics is proud to have sponsored the 12th annual NWC NAMM Canadian Reception at the recent NAMM Show in Anaheim, Calif. Hosted by international communications company NWC in cooperation with NAMM, this reception is now the largest annual gathering of Canadian dealers and pro-audio and lighting professionals anywhere. With live music that fired up the party atmosphere, the NWC NAMM Canadian Reception capped off an exciting first full day at the industrys most popular trade show.
For more than 40 years, NWC has provided the highest-quality support and resources to clients and readers in Canadas exciting and rapidly changing music, pro-audio, and lighting industries. The organization currently publishes four magazines: Canadian Music Trade, Professional Sound, Professional Lighting Production, and Canadian Musician. Additionally, NWC has a long history of organizing successful events that combine fun with networking opportunities. At Winter NAMM 2008, NWC presented the first annual CMT NAMM Canadian Reception, which was well attended by Canadians at The NAMM Show. The tradition continued this year, providing sponsors like Peavey an excellent opportunity to connect with NWCs audience.
The NWC NAMM Canadian Reception took place on Thursday, Jan. 16, at 8:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Park Hotel, immediately following the NAMM International Reception. The party provided a great opportunity for dealers, suppliers and professionals to connect on the first day of the NAMM Show and to unwind in a casual atmosphere that offered a cash bar, light refreshments, and live music by the Canadian rock band Toque.
After rocking Winter NAMM 2018, Toque returned this year to pick up right where they left off, with a high-energy, crowd-pleasing performance. These highly skilled musicians are well-known for playing Canadian classic rock covers. Individually, the members tour the world with some of the greatest artists of all time, including Slash, Shania Twain, Gene Simmons, Kelly Clarkson, Michael Schenker, and more. In late 2016, Toque released their full album Giver, covering the best of Canadian rockers, such as Streetheart, Kim Mitchell, Platinum Blonde, and April Wine. They followed up with the August 2019 release of Never Enough featuring more Canadian smash hits and the groups first original song, Never Enough For You. Toques performance thrilled the audience at the NWC NAMM Canadian Reception, and was the perfect kickoff for NAMM Show festivities.
