Re: SP 4G - missing low mid/bass punch

From what I know of Peavey, blue is negative and either white or yellow is the positive, which is how i have them wired at the speaker. I did try some rewiring, but I honestly can't remember if I hit every combination (it was late and I was tired). I guess it is possible something is mis-wired at t...

Re: Peavey 15" BWX 1508-8

I'm guessing your measuring this with an ohm meter? What your seeing is the DCR or Direct Current Resistance. This is not the true overall reading the amp sees when "music" is played through the box. As an example look at page 3 of the link I added. You can see how the impedance varies with frequenc...

Re: PV215 flush mount for stand

I would not to it for safety sake but...... Remember to put something like a thread spool down on the floor and set the speaker on it to find the "Real Center" of gravity. Move the speaker around until it balances on this. It could be quite away from the measured left/right to front/back. It would b...

Re: Mark III Console - as Stage Mixer?

Transformer Isolated splitter snakes are recommended but you may get by without. I'd highly recommend having the Monitor desk and the FOH desk being plugged into the same power supply/receptacle even if it means running a longer extension cord to FOH or Monitor world. The desk alone won't require mu...

Re: Sp2

You could always try one or the other on the woofer. It won't hurt the woofer to have highs going to it but it will , if too loud for sure , damage the horn with lows going to it.

Re: Sub Cabinets

I found part of your problem. """and went out and bought a Gemini XGA-4000""" The HDH244T is a mid/high speaker that can be used as a full range but not deep cabinet if need be. Sort of like a SP2. The down side is its internal volume is not enough to really take advantage of the speaker you ...

Re: Sp2 full range issues

Hi Doug, Thanks for the response. Mine is sp2 (http://media.musiciansfriend.com/is/image/MMGS7/SP-2-2-Way-15-Speaker-Cab/601390000000000-00-500x500.jpg) I worked out that I have a faulty bi amp socket. I always run on full range and the one side goes off randomly till I get another speakon plug and...

Re: Sp2 full range issues

Sp2"G" , Sp2"X" or? Easier to give advice if we know what model you have. The Bi-amp in on my SP2x speakers bypasses the passive crossover and 1/4 inch inputs when used. This would still include the Horn protection circuit though. If this was "bad" then it may "stick" and not let the 1/4 inch inputs...

Could you look at the other speaker you have and see the value on it or do you just have the one?

Re: Help! My pv2600 is driving me insane.

hi Enzo update on my broken pv2600. have just received it back from my wifes work collegue, who is an audio electronics engineer. he concluded that there is nothing wrong with the amp, he had output from both a and b and said i must have some dodgy leads. however, after just plugging it it in my ga...

Re: Mixing Notions

After reading the above it seems your more in the "private party" area than a road mixer or festival mixer. In your case I can see the need for your requirements. Pretty much your nickel. Doesn't sound like you've had many guest mixers so not really a major concern. Try 9 bands in 6 hours.......

Re: Mixing Notions

Mark; First as to the X32's being noisy I've heard a few local and own a M32r myself and have to say they have a very low noise floor . My m32 has a lower noise floor than my Yamaha O1v and O1v96. The m32 line has better faders, preamps, and construction but in live sound they should be close. Somethi...

Re: Install pole mount on Subcompact 18's? Thoughts?

Mark. There is the true acoustic phase that is much more important. You'll have to get a measurement tool of some sort and a crossover with the proper delay times available to do it right. Smaart has a nice system. As for a cup on top I did that to an older set I had. Inside the box there is a brace...
