Too much power, go with 600 - 800 Watts.

Re: keep killing sp4 BW and sp118FH low riders

If you are using both together, then that is your problem, as some frequencies will become a black hole in which you pour power but only increase cancellation.

Use the FH-1 as separate Aux fed subs for the Kick only.

Re: How do you figure amperage needed?

Add up the total wattage into each enclosures impedance and divide by 120 (VAC). That will tell you the needed current at full power draw. Typically, however you can get by with half that amount due to the dynamic nature of music. At very minimum, you would need 80% of the 1/2 current calculation.

You mentioned that the tone was different when bi=amping. Does your electronic crossover have CD Horn EQ? Probably not. Read the Tech notes section regarding the necessary CD Horn EQ.

Spudler, The forum is intended to offer answers to questions, but it is not a tutorial on pro audio. You seem to be on a pilgrimage, but your compass is foggy. Have you yet read the topics on the Tech Notes section? If not, you owe it to yourself to review the papers. You will then be able to understa...

Re: RX22 diaphragm kit into an old 22A magnet?

You just need the proper replacement diaphragm kit. Which would not be the RX 22 for technical issues involving the new radius, the closer distance to the phasing plug (of the correct radius), and the suspension. There is a generic replacement for all prior models to the RX, but I forget the # and a...

Re: Peavey XM6 noise

You are double pre-amping. A mixer takes a small signal from mic level (-10 dB) to FOH Line levels (> +10 dB). So, you are putting line levels into an input circuit that only expects (-10 dB), thus clipping the SM6 preamp or getting about +30 db of the noise floor, depending on your settings. Does t...

Re: PV20 has fuzzy output with wireless handheld mics

It is always best to have the receivers as close to the stage as possible, as the -6 dB inverse square law applies to RF as well as acoustics.

Also it is known that some wireless mic systems will malfunction when phantom power is engaged. Turn off the phantom and see if the problem goes away.

Re: PM18S-- Mic help with popping

If the mixer has a high pass filter (low cut) on the channel, engage it.

That mic does need a windscreen (pop filter) when used as close proximity.

Did a screen filter not come with the mic?

Re: SP4 Problem

You may have toasted the woofer. The tom 15 usually goes first as it goes two octaves higher than the bottom woofer. Take out the woofers and remove the magnets to see if thea coils hvw been damaged. If bad, you can order replacement baskets.

Re: FX2 16 channel mixer

You may be running out of headroom in the summing bus or in the A/D converters. Masters should be at 0 dB(unity gain). Channels should start at -10 dB. You do the sound check for front of house (FOH) first, then monitors. You turn up the inputs until each channel is loud enough for the room. At this...
