Isn't anybody doing anything this summer, I don't want to be the only person posting pictures on here. Show me some pictures.
Alabama changed the laws concerning Craft beers and now there are many microbreweries around here making some of the best beer ever. They have started having shows with live bands and I have been getting some Sound System rental work from this.
Last week I did a small festival at the Good People Brewery in Birmingham Alabama across the street from Regions Field. Birmingham is 100 miles from where I live. There were seven great bands that I had never heard of before, some of the best new music that I've heard lately.

It was a hot August day with temps in the 90's. People were carrying around thier beer in the hot Sun and it looked so good and golden in the light, too irresistable. The bands pressed on in the heat and played excellently. My sound system has never sounded so good, everything was so clear and natural. All the bands made good comments to me about the sound, I was getting the Big Ego.

My new favorite speaker setup, it sounds so clear and punchy. Only running 2 monitor mixes here so not a whole lot of amps. At my next show I discovered that I had one of my Sub amps setup incorrectly with the amps crossover switches in the High Pass position preventing full bass power on one set of bass cabinets. Still it all sounded amazing.

A coupla weeks after the Brewery show I did a band straight from India here in Huntsville Alabama. The event was in a small 350 seat theater at the Von Braun Center. I actually work at this building regulerly doing sound and lighting but was here providing my sound system this time. The same 3000 watt system that was used in Birmingham.

With the amps setup correctly the subs sounded even better and unlimited in this small room. I totally loved this position for the mixing console.

Ended up with quite a stack of amplifiers, 4 IPR-1600 and a CS-800x. This was all running off of a single 12 ga extension cord. I was providing 4 monitor mixes using 7 floor monitors, many of these monitors were seeing their first show after I had rebuilt them a few months ago and I was very happy with the loudness and clarity.

And once again I feel that I have gotten the best sound to ever come from this sound system, amazingly clear and easy on the ears. This band was totally awesome too with a more modern sound to traditional Indian music. It was great to have all those monitors and mixes to work with too.

I have not yet posted to this thread, but I guess I will now.

Here's a photo from an event I did back in May 2014 in the lobby of our local performing arts center. This was taken during set up, but you can see my QW218s, QW2s and several of my QW monitors. You can't see the racks of CS series amps though.

I'll try to get some more photos this fall at the few outdoor events coming up.

Does always wearing my sweat-stained, worn out Peavey cap to jobs count as a "gig pic"? Here's one with me and the lead vocalist of a disco show band I worked for this July.

I am still doing about 2 events a week with my Sound, Lighting and stage. I recently purchased a 24x8 Monitor Mixer so I can now provide up to 8 monitor mixes onstage now. Also recently put together a second large size sound system so I'm able to do 2 events at the same time now. Last week on Saturday September 20th, I did 2 events on the same day.
In Decatur I did an all day event. The first part of the day was a Talent Contest with Bands, Dancers and Singers with tracks. These artists were judged and given professional advice. Later on was a popular inspirational band and the winners of the earlier contest were occasionally invited onstage to help perform. I was doing the Sound and lighting for this one. The picture was from sound check.

On that same day I was providing 2 sound systems at a wedding near Alabama A&amp;M. One system was for the wedding itself and was amplifying music from a computer and a wireless lapel microphone that the Pastor was wearing. <br />The other system was much larger and is pictured at the tent for the reception. The big Peavey speakers on top of some smaller unused speakers and powered with an old Peavey CS-800x amplifier. Pumping out the tunes and amping a wireless handheld for the toasts and dances.

I provided sound at this year's event... everyone was saying it was the best sound they've ever had. Plenty loud and crisp clear sound.

I've been featuring my Largest sound system in the last few posts, so I decided to show my smallest system this time. This was a jazz band playing at a Chinese restaurant last night. This system is almost all Peavey gear: Mixer, Amp, EQs, and the woofers in the speaker cabinets. It was a fun night and it all sounded awesome. I provided a few lights too.

Now I just realised that you can't actually see the Peavey gear in this photo - but if you were there, trust me, you would have heard it!

A Classic 30.for the Gretsch and a Bandit for the Strat. A moderately sized room, no proper soundcheck but it sounded fab (if I don't say so myself). I am consistently impressed by the old C30, volume on 4 1/3 and easily keeping up with a loud drummer.

Friday night October 24 I provided a Sound system and some Lights for The Haunt At Three Caves. This was a fundraiser for the Huntsville Land Trust and the Young Business Professionals. The band was a classic rock cover band from Nashville called Top Tier. I used my biggest sound system at 3000 watts with a 24 channel mixer and 4 monitor mixes. It sounded incredible and a fun time was had by all.

Three Caves was an old limestone mine. There are caverns that go 500 feet back into the side of the mountain. It's a kindof honeycomb design with many columns supporting the roof. This area had it's own reverb effect built in and made it sound really good without adding effects. This is such a great event space.

Ok Woofer, I'll take up some slack with a couple pics. These were taken by a friend. I'm always too busy to take pics but I love seeing pics of racks and stacks.

Back at ya Geno1 with some more pics. I lived in Monroe Louisiana for a coupla years in the mid 80's.

Alabama has been getting more micro beer breweries since they changed a few laws recently. They all have been promoting shows inside the brewerys themselfs. Last night November 1st 2014 I did a show 100 miles away in Birmingham Alabama. It was at the Good People Brewery right inside with all the stainless steel tanks. Eight bands from 12:noon through about 11:PM. The sound inside was awful as it was like playing inside an echo chamber. Nobody could hear the monitors it was so bad. Only ran vocals and acoustic instruments in the mix because the volume was so loud in there. I also did the lighting. Am training a new guy to do sound for me, here is his first time to do a mix.

Last night I provided a small sound system for an old school blues band King Tutt with Stacey and Stephon. They are excellent singers doing karaoke style with the tracks coming from the keyboard, plus he would occasionally play solos on the keys. I used a single IPR-1600 amp with one side for the mains and the other side doing monitors at 530w each. All of the woofers in the mains and monitors are Peavey Scorpion speakers.

The Effects rack is combined with the Amp rack, a 6 channel Peavey mixer and a computer. The rack has: Peavey EQ, Alises dual compressor, Art reverb, Korg Delay and Peavey Amp. I was recording the show using two SM57 mics into a ProSonus interface through USB to the computer and Audacity to record it all. I get great results using this method.

Did my first outdoor show today (Sunday). It was a high school Marching Band Competition at Milton Fran\k Stadium. I have a new Lovely Assistant Lisa, she helped me out. Was great fun and good weather.dragged out the old 3020 cabinets and used only the low end double 15 speakers.
