What if...I had a gig tonight?

As a lot of you know, my group doesn't play a lot, we primarily just do small gigs for fun, and tonight we played for a fundraiser for "Meals On Wheels" in a rural county close by. They had a good crowd, I hope they made a lot of money...

I might post some video later if any turned out decent. Lots of Peavey gear; I used my Classic 30, John has a Peavey bass and we were using a Peavey PA.

This was a different, shorter gig for us. There was a program, lots of stops to announce door prizes, make speeches, etc. So we ended up only playing just a little over an hour. Despite that, we ended up doing a number of "new" songs, that is, songs we hadn't played in public before, last night. So here is a playlist of those. Watch at your own risk!

Well thanks Scott! I don't think the video captured the sound that great, Ronnie's guitar was closer to the camera so he is a lot louder, but in reality I think it was more balanced than that. It's hard when you don't have everything running through a PA and you're playing for a function that doesn't want things 'too loud'.

The blue guitar I am using is a Fender FMT. It's sort of what you get when you cross a Tele with a Les Paul. It's got two humbuckers, a set neck and a maple top. I picked that guitar up because I thought my cousin Donna might want it. She was on the lookout for a Tele, and I found this one used for a great price. It seemed pretty unique, too. Well, she was kind of trying to decide, so I picked it up thinking if she didn't want it, I'd keep it or sell it. She didn't want it, and that guitar just grew on me. It plays great and sounds good too. You can split the coils (which I did in "Stayin' Alive").
