Companded chorus(cmc-1) power supply
Companded chorus(cmc-1) power supply
Looking for correct power adaptor for Peavey Companded Chorus (CMC-1). Appreciate any help with this. Thanks!
Re: Companded chorus(cmc-1) power supply
Peavey pedals from this period use an unusual AC adapter that is no longer available; like a ⅛" mono connector. You can use a universal adapter that has several tips, but be aware that the Peavey's are center positive.

Re: Companded chorus(cmc-1) power supply
I have a Peavey PFC-5 pedal board loaded with Peavey pedals. The original power supply no longer works, but I use a One-Spot power supply with daisy chain. I forget which adapter plug that I use for these pedals.

Re: Companded chorus(cmc-1) power supply
I have all of these cool Peavey effects from the 80’s. I started making adapter cables to go from the typical Boss type power adapter to the Peavey/DOD type. But then I just switched the Peavey ones over to the typical Boss type. I changed the socket on the pedal to match the Boss adapter. So much better and more useable that way.

You'll need the One Spot C35 accessory.
It has a 1/8" plug (3.5mm), and puts the positive on the tip.
Still, I always double check polarities and voltages with a tester, before letting any of my pedals have a taste.
If it's wrong, the pedal can become seriously injured, or just plain destroyed!
And make sure your adapter supplies enough milli-amps for all the pedals connected to it.
