I have a ValveKing 112 combo, first Peavey I've owned since 1983 when I had a
tweed Classic, ( bought used, don't know how old it was when I purchased it),
50 watts, tube, 2-12's, reverb and tremolo. It sounded great, have not seen a picture
of one like it ever on this forum but wish I had it now. The VK is great, my Fender
Bandmaster and 212 cabinet are just sitting around now.

Re: Which Peavey Amp do you have
Guitar: Two. Classic VTX 212 garage blaster, awesome tones and a Rage 158 which I love for the bedroom. I use a digitech RP250 to get rockabilly delay and reverb in the mix. I use a MXR custom badass OD and a Fix'd fuzz for raunchier black keys tones. They each drive to great tone on their own. The VTX did not have the footswitch so I made one. had to convert 6 pin DIN to a 5 pin, kit box and had custom stickers made for it. All done and looks cool.
Bass: One TNT 115. Had to fix the speaker and input resistor. Works great, tone shaping and loud.

VIP1/Sanpera 1.
I had to sell my trusty stage-tested Vypyr 30 along with some other amps because I'm downsizing.
I had a couple of modded Vypyr 15s with 10 inch speakers that I donated to local churches.
Still have a Fender Deluxe Reverb, Excelsior, and tweed Bronco as well as an Acoustic Image Ten2.
The VIP serves as my grab 'n go amp and as a backup amp for gigs as I'm nearly always mic'ed.
I may add a VIP2 in the future.

Guitars: Fender Tele and Strat, Ibanez ES 53, Epiphone Joe Pass, Junior and Casino, Traveler Escape and C1, Lag, Ovation and Hermida acoustics. Basses: 1983 Squier Precision bass and Precision/Tele bass

Re: Which Peavey Amp do you have
That sounds like a Peavey Vintage not a Classic. The Vintage was made in the 1970s. Pete Townsend played one for a while.Mnc wrote:I have a ValveKing 112 combo, first Peavey I've owned since 1983 when I had a

The 6 string guitar is the roadster of the guitars. It's fast, agile and fun. The bass guitar is more like a muscle car. It can move out too, but it's more about power.

Re: Which Peavey Amp do you have
I have an early Classic 30 that is in wonderful shape. I just swapped the pre-amp tubes based on Cincy's recommendations. A Tung Sol in #1 position, and a Sovtek long plate in the phase inverter.
It sounds really spectacular, and it sounded nice before I did the swap.

Re: Which Peavey Amp do you have
Thanks . They are getting hard to find and they are expensive to ship cause the amp weighs over 70 pounds .
