Chris Goodwin wrote:Gentlemen when reading the serial number for this particular Classic 50 remember this. Peavey Serial Numbers from the 90s have a 8 digit sequence the "00-" at the front is of no meaning to the number. So the 8 digits after the double 0 is your serial number. If you have on the serial sticker MFG LOC 03 this means that the unit was made at our production facility known as PLANT #3, roughly 1 to 2 miles down the road from me here in Meridian, Ms.
If you guys will send me your serials I will get as much info on them as I can which is usually just the ship date or Date of Birth. We changed operating systems a couple of years ago and it takes a little time to find this info out if its in the system. But I will try. Thanx.
Chris I just joined the forum so I am not sure if I can private message you. I am trying to date my Classic 50 head and was wondering if you might be able to assist?
Thanks

Leszek --- your amp was made on 06 Feb. 1995. Its 20 years old this year. That was a good year. It was the year I started work here at Peavey.

Big Bluesy -- your amp was made on 02 Dec 1994.

Gentlemen this is the first time I have ever traced down serials for two separate amps, owned by two different people, in two different countries and the amp's dates are on TWO months apart. This is TWO WILD !!!! LOL!!

Attn: Chris Goodwin
Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to directly send you a question so I'm posting this one here in the hope that this is your thread and you'll see it:

I have a Peavey Delta Blues 1x15 and I'd like to date it (year of manufacture is good enough). The serial number is 08052244. The label also says:
MFG LOC03 JFH-23 and has a barcode under that.

Any help in dating this amp (which is awesome by the way!) will be much appreciated.

Thanks, Nick B.

Any information on it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
