6505MH Crunch engaged lowers volume

Post by zzini » Wed Mar 29, 2017 7:19 pm

when I engage the crunch on the clean channel of my 6505MH at anything over 9:00 on the pre amp the amp delivers more crunch but lowers the volume from the clean setting, is this supposed to happen? it seems odd, and isnt all that useable, going from clean to crunch and losing a noticeable amount of volume

Back in the 90's, the 5150's crunch channel wasn't footswitchable, so users had to choose between clean / crunch then were able to footswitch the lead channel (and the fx loop). So yes, it's pretty supposed to happen and yes it's barely usable over 10:00.

Thanks, too bad, that really limits the head for me, love the sound all around, crunch channel cranked with pre gain to 12 to 3, limits of micro heads i guess

I'm glad someone else noticed this on their head. I was thinking it was an issue with my 6505mh.
