6505 112 speaker

Post by Justinbrillo » Wed Apr 26, 2017 9:14 pm

Hi everyone my names Justin I'm new to the forum. Just had a question maybe someone can help out with. I have a peavey 6505+ 112 combo. My speakers are blown the stock, and a vintage 30 I bought. I need something that can handle more watts so I can crank the amp without blowing another speaker. Any suggestions? I play metal with this amp. Slayer/Ozzy tones. I saw an eminence man o war redcoat but not sure if it will get the tone I want.

If you like the Celestion G12-75T Speaker you'll love the Man-O-War.
Same tone, higher SPL (+3dB - twice as loud ) with 150 Watts handling.
Just about un-blowable in a 60 Watt combo - check out YouTube videos of both the Man-O-War and G12-75T as a rough tonal guide.
Both of these speakers emaphasise highs and lows with a scooped mid sort of quality.
I am familiar with both types, I like the G12-75T and that's what pointed me in the direction of the Man-O-War for a 60 Watt Marshall TSL Combo.
The G12-100T or Hot 100 (97dB SPL) is maybe another (slightly less desirable) option or the G12K-100 (100dB SPL) which most metal heads prefer out of the two.
