I hope someone can lend me some guidance. I am new to tube amps and found a Bravo 112 at a yard sale for $50. I got it home and plugged in and found that my practice amp was way louder and this had some crackling here and there as well as a hum. My thoughts were the tubes from what I read and I took apart and inspected the tubes. All tubes lit up everything looked as it should (not that I really know what I'm looking for). After putting it back together, this thing was screaming. Everything seemed to work fine, had great output, no crackling, and hum maybe cut in half. Turned it on the next day and it was back to almost no sound and the crackling was back.
Any input on what might be the cause would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for you help.
Bravo 112 Low sound output/Crackling
Re: Bravo 112 Low sound output/Crackling
When ti is low, plug something in and out of the FX return jack a couple times. ANy help? And really, ball up your fist and whack the top hard. Does that wake it up even for a second? (Reveals loose connections)
Re: Bravo 112 Low sound output/Crackling
Thanks for the tips. It worked by installing a cable in the efx loop jacks and removing . Should I spray an electronic cleaner in there to prevent that in the future?
Re: Bravo 112 Low sound output/Crackling
Spray a little cleaner into the return jack, and push a plug in and out a few times to spread it around in there. Probably will be enough. ABsolute worst case, you replace the return jack.
