Question to Bandit 112 (current generation, aka cyclope ) owners - can it produce adequate lead/crunch tone at the bedroom levels? Without additional stompboxes. This is a question from not-so-happy Vypyr Tube 60 owner, since this beast at the bedroom levels noise-gating everything but the clean channels.
I understand that neither of the mentioned amps is intended for quiet home usage. But still would like to know.
Bandit 112 at low volume
Re: Bandit 112 at low volume
"Bedroom level" that's subjectI've. It all depends on how loud your willing to go in your bedroom. I have the redstripe version and the volume control can be a little touchy but I've been very happy for years playing it around the house.
Re: Bandit 112 at low volume
Subjective, agree. I won't give a precise definition. For me bedroom level is... something like a loud-speaking TV (which is subjective itself, of course). Just trying to get a very general perception of what to expect. Nearby GC haven't had 112 in stock, so can't check.
Re: Bandit 112 at low volume
I haven't tried the new bandits but I would say you'd be. Very happy with the tone of the amp. It's much more versatile that the previous incantations. You could spend another 20 bucks on a fx loop volume box from Carl's custom guitars or make one yourself. I use one with my tube amps and have used it with my Bandit with great results.

Thanks TimmyV. That's good to know. Or bad, since now I want to go for Bandit and spend extra $$..
Re: Bandit 112 at low volume
You can pickup a nice used silver or redstripe Bandit for a fraction of a new one. You'll get different opinions on which is best on here but I like my redstripe. Tons YouTube videos on these amps.barber76 wrote:Thanks TimmyV. That's good to know. Or bad, since now I want to go for Bandit and spend extra $$..
