The Ultra and Supreme both do metal really well.
6505, xxx, xxl, jsx, 3120 and so on are also very good.

The Ultra is a good choice. It is the Triple XXX's predecessor.

My Ultra 212 will metal all day long. Gobs of gain.

Re: Peavey head comparaison
First post. I have a 3120 but keep hearing how great the 6505+ is. Well I am in a trade for my 3120 for a 112 60watt 6505+. Also he is giving me a amplifier line 6 75 watt as his thought of evening the trade. I don't play out and the 112 has reverb and direct out for recording. I'm looking for input from someone other then my friend that's a 5150, 6505 freak. Am I making a good trade? I played my 3120 for the first time in awhile and had 2nd thoughts. I've never had the chance to play any other high gain peavey's so I'm going off of reputation. The 3120 has to much power and I have cabs for the new amp plus resale or trade value seams bad on 3120's when I tried to sell it I got so many offered under $400. Any oppinion. This guy is driving to far for me to say I changed my mind and he decided to come today 6/21/17
