Speaker replacement for VK 112 MK1 - WGS G12C/S?

Hello, all.

My newest Peavey amp is a VK 112 that I picked up with the intention of swapping speaker and tubes. I'm having it looked over right now, and everything seems ok. My question pertains to this particular speaker, in this particular amp:

I'd like to retain and enhance the sparkle and jangle in the clean channel, and cool off some of what seems to be inherent fizzyness in the drive channel. I'll also be running an EQ in the effects loop, FWIW.

Any input/feedback/experiences with this speaker would be most welcome.
