Classic 20 MH,

Post by Sportbooie » Mon Jun 26, 2017 7:40 pm

My Classic 20 has gone....bad.....

Near as I can tell, the capasitor in C18...is bad.
I have been searching for a schematic to confirm the capasitor specs.....if you know what those specs are, I'd appreciate it.

But the link above will clearly show the horrible state the amp is in.

My audio isn't working. But if you think it is bad, what is labeled on the part?

Won't have ohms, will have capacitance in microfarads. You will have to rotate the part or remove it. If you plan to replace it, it has to come out anyway. How did you determine it to be bad?

The only thing I have to test is a multimeter.....
There are four caps of the same value on the board.
They all measure 1475-1485 -----except C18 which only measures 30 .
That's positive to negative .
The filter cap in question is in the dirty side of the amp.
.
Visually the cap looks ok, an ever so slight curve ......
In no other spot can I find an answer.
I have had it to a local tech, and he couldn't find the issue. Couldn't reproduce the issue.....this happens at any location I pug into...... through a power conditioner or without. So, his input is suspect.
