Stereo / parallel um uh?
Left/right 8 ohm stereo jacks on the head, 2x 16 ohm parallel jacks on cab, what's the correct way to connect these?
Re: Stereo / parallel um uh?
what amp head? the cab is 16 ohms. don't know of a Peavey stereo amp head...

DO NOT connect that cab. If the amp really is stereo with separate left and right outputs, that means two amplifiers. Parallel jacks in the cab means they are wired together. SO connecting both sides of the amp is the same as connecting the two sides of the amp together.

The head is a Mustang V v.1, the cab is a Krank 4x12Enzo wrote:DO NOT connect that cab. If the amp really is stereo with separate left and right outputs, that means two amplifiers. Re: Stereo / parallel um uh?
OK so apparently one input on the cab connects to the head, the second input is to link up another cab for a full stack, hence "parallel". So question is should I just go from one of the outputs on the head to the cab? Did this and it it felt kinda weak like not all speakers were loud...

Yes, OR to a stereo cab. But never both stereo outputs into a mono cab

There was the Revolution head, and the Stereo Chorus 400 Power Pak head, both with 2 separate power amps.thunda wrote:what amp head? the cab is 16 ohms. don't know of a Peavey stereo amp head...
The Revolution even had separate Ohm selectable speaker outputs.
Does that count?

Re: Stereo / parallel um uh?
OK - so he said it was an amp head, not a power amp. My bad.
