Vypyr VIP 1 High Pitched Feedback

When using my Vypyr VIP 1 I get a high pitched feedback. It isn't loud, but you can hear it pretty well. It happens with my electric and acoustic. When I unplug my guitar, but leave the cord connected to the speaker, I still hear it. But when I unplug the cord from the speaker, there is no noise at all, and the light show begins to play. Could this be solved with a firmware update?
