Peavey Rage 258

Post by hbg » Sun Aug 20, 2017 2:02 am

Admittedly, I've never really used this much. I turned it on yesterday, and it was dead, no power. I opened it up, and went looking for a new fuse. The electronics guy said he didn't have one that small, so I temporarily wired up a larger one. This time I had light, but no sound at all. In some of my prior reading, I read that the TDA2040 amplifier is the most likely culprit.

It turns out that it was just a loose connection to the speaker. Now any ideas what fuse to use? I have a 10 a in there, but I think I read that a 3A Slo blo works better. I am going to put this in so it's easy to change.

10 amps??? Going to start a fire that way. The amp wants a 1 amp fuse for 120v operation.

It is a 15mm pigtail fuse - one with wire leads to be soldered to the circuit board. Exact part from Peavey is part number 70901244.
