Peavey Duel Two Twelve Classic Tube Series
Peavey Duel Two Twelve Classic Tube Series
My Duel 212 classic is blowing the f2a 2amp fuse, I pull the 6L6s out, and the fuse stops blowing so I know I have a bad tube. But I was curious to know, there are 2 1 amp fuses, 1 2 amp fuse, and an 8 amp ceramic fuse. What are each of these fuse for? Thanks in advance.
Re: Peavey Duel Two Twelve Classic Tube Series
Look at the schematic:
The 2A fuse is for the high voltage, which is what your bad tube is shorting out.
The two 1A fuses are for the low voltage supplies, +25v and -25v.
The 8A fuse is for the tube heaters.
On the power tube board, there are four 100 ohm 5 watt resistors. MAke sure none of them have gone open. Bad tubes often take out screen resistors, which those are.

I'm pretty sure you'd blow the HT fuse if you lost bias as well. Pin 5 on the 6L6 sockets should have a negative voltage of about -20V or so on it. If you're familiar with tube amps and high voltage hand it off to a tech. In fact check for proper voltages all around.

Where can I find a schematic for this amp?
Re: Peavey Duel Two Twelve Classic Tube Series
Call customer service at Peavey and ask for it.
Actually pin 5 bias voltage ought to be more like -55 to -60 volts. 20 volts would be more like an EL84 amp.

Correct, this amp came with 6L6 tubes.
