i have a studio pro 60 from the 80's. i'd like to change the speaker as it seems to lack bottom end. the speaker also breaks up a little early for my taste, like around 5 or 6. the speaker has nothing for markings except what looks like 70777651 on a piece of tape around the edge of the magnet. i'm thinking maybe it was made by eminence for peavey but idk. i'd like to know something of its specs if possible so i can decide what speaker to put in this thing to make it sound its best. i'm looking for cleans to the ends of the earth and lots of bottom end.

I think the amp is 50 watts? Depends on how much you want to spend. A Jensen MOD 12 is a decent budget speaker. The Jet Falcon even better. An Eminence Speaker depending on your prefefence would also work. The Legend Series is a bit more cost effeactive and can handle the wattage.

thx for the reply and suggestions. i think i may go with a mod 12 70 or the mod 12 110. more than likely it will be the 70 watt.

update time. i put an eminence legend v128 in it back in march i think it was. turned the amp into a bit of a beast. smoothed out the highs of the old speaker. as the speaker broke in the low end increased. there is also a noticeable increase in volume. i put it on an ab switch with an 80 watt silver stripe bandit 112. the bandit lost that battle. and no speaker break up. clean to the bitter end.
