Old 215 Cabinet

Post by Bassprof » Fri Aug 05, 2011 10:52 am

I have inherited an old Peavey 215 bass guitar cabinet. I really like the cabinet but one of the speakers is blown and I would like to find a replacement. Here is info from the plate on the back:

Peavey 215 enclosure 4 ohms
6E-31245

Anybody know where I can find out more info about the cabinet? Source for a replacement speaker?

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Is there a good thread dedicated to peavey 215d cabs, and black widows (the old 1504's).. am refurbishing one as we speak and need info on port mods, dampening and wiring..

I added a few pieces of wood around the vents (all sides but the bottom since the rectangular ports are only about an inch away from the edge) so vent(s) length is effectively approx. 2"
Wondering if 2 older 1504's (4ohm) wired in series is as good as 2 1502's wired parallel?
Is there any benefit or detriment to putting a cross vent hole(s) between chambers? pp
