Peavey MegaBass wattage into 8x10 with parallel inputs

Post by ParryPerson » Fri Apr 07, 2017 4:25 am

What happens when I plug in low and high outputs into my 8x10 cabinet that has 2 parallel inputs?

I'm concerned about getting the full 400 watts, as 200 only seems pretty quiet for rock music.

The Megabass was designed to run as a bi-amp unit. One amp for the highs and one for the lows. Running both amp outputs to the parallel inputs on your cab will almost certainly not gain you anything and may do harm to your amp.

Back in the day, it was common to drive a 15 or 18 with the low amp and 2x10 cab with the high amp. The 3620 or 1810 cabs were often paired with the Megabass,

Good luck!

I'm sure there are a number of folks here who would take those 1230's off your hands (myself included) if you decide to let them go...
