Substitute for T-26 Neck ???
I have a T-26 in pieces that I want to rebuild and keep. When I bought it, the neck had the BEGINNINGS of a small separation frets 18-24. At advice of Peavey techs, I used Locktite to seal and prevent further running. My question: Since I am keeping, should I just use it's original neck or should I sub another Peavey neck and hang on to the original in case I ever want to sell. Old stock T-26 necks are hard to find: if you all suggest a substitute (for now), what Peavey neck should I look for? Thanks for your help, Dave Z.

save that neck if you can. If not, a tele neck (shortscale mind you) will work- 24.75" scale
Thats gibby scale and the heel of the tele is squared correctly.
Or any 24.75" scale peavey neck

Thanks Twangboy. My 1st inclination is to save the original neck too. I wanna put the whole thing together, set it up and see what she sounds like. Guess I'll worry about the "running neck" if and when it happens.
Re: Substitute for T-26 Neck ???
most of the splits ive seen are at the body end. People use that Tilt function with no slug in place. That point hits right in the bilaminated seam and when they crank it up, it splits the seam open. Careful using thin glues in there as you risk gluing the rod.

Re: Substitute for T-26 Neck ???
Thanks again Twangboy. I'll take a look at the neck and body tonight to see if there is any evidence of a slug being used. What you say makes absolutely perfect sense. I'm learning a lot of "don'ts" already for this rebuild.
