Peavey V-Type USA

Post by Rainer » Tue Oct 04, 2011 9:28 am

I need some specifications of the US-V-Type. Whats the wood of the body and the neck? How many US-V-Types were produced and what was the price for it in 2003? Mr.Google couldn´t answer my questions. I know three different colors. Satin black, blue and orange. Are this all available colors? Is there a STB Version or just with tremolo?

Thanks for your help !

Pretty sure the V-types made in 2003 were made in Korea, not the USA. The last USA V-type was probably around 1992 or so.

Someone else please correct me if I'm wrong here.

Easiest way to know if it's U.S. will be that the serial number is engraved into the head-stock. That and the Korean models say EXP.

@Genny

Thats not right. There were USA V-Types from 2002-2004.
On the pic you can see, that the USA V-Type have one Humbucker and one Hotrail-PU.

Could be. I don't know much about them. If there were some USA V-types made after 2000, I imagine they were made in very small quantities. Have you tried calling Peavey and talking to Steve Smith? He seems to be the most knowledgeable person currently with Peavey in terms of guitar production. There might not be documentation available anymore, but Steve has helped me connect the dots on quite a few things over the years. Good luck, and let us know what you find out.

No...the USA V-Types are only with tremolo. There are 4 colors: Satin Black / Satin Tangerine/ Pearl Silver / Topaz Blue. My dream is to own every color and I know my dream will come true. ;-)

Hey guys!
Im planning to get one of these axes but I cannot find any usable information about the materials just about the fingerboard. The guitar what im gonna get was made in korea. I played a U.S one so long ago and I loved that.
Im also a Peavey lover, using the VK100 212 combo and the 6505+ head with VK cabinet.
