Hi everybody.
Daddy-o55, writing from Rome Italy, newcomer in this Forum.
I heard and saw a (very good) guitarist playing a NATURAL T-60 HERE, in Rome, at a gig, and decided to absolutely have one.
Had precious info from forum administrators, and also studied a litlle on the net (no books on the T-60, as far as I know).
Coming to the point I must make a choice, my doubts have somewhat increased.
I have to make a decision between:
- a Sunburst T-60 serial n. 008501.., with patent logo (bad condition hard shell case with no 'velvet', the one that came with foam for the body only, a possible useful element for dating the axe?)
- a Natural T-60, serial n. 0064252... with no patent logo, perfect conditions hard shell case, comes with 'velvet'. Neck and frtes looks pretty much ok, a little bit too much, I would say, for a 40 years axe that someone must have played.
According to Frank's Peavey instructions, readable on this forum, the Natural 0064252 should date from 1980, the sunburst 008501.. from 1981.
My doubts come from this: I don't understand why a one year later T-60 comes with logo and an older one doesn't.
Add that the absence of logo on the back of headstock could mean the Natural had a refretting or similar, while I'd prefer an 'all original' stuff.
Maybe you can help resolving my indecitions!
Look forward to hearing from you, and... thanks a lot!

I imagine youre looking at a similar conundrum.
The toaster 60 has an 0074xx serial.

Also
First two are natural, blade early head.
Next 3 pics are an "early" style.
Last two are my "later/blade"
I also recently found one with an early headstock and blade pickups but the owner wouldn't give up his serial.

I'm not sure how to reply or whatever, but I have a mint 1978 T-60 with "patent pending" on the headstock. I called Peavey many years ago and they dated it to Sept 78 Anyone interested?

I'd be interested in seeing some photos posted, for starters!
