T 40 bass age
T 40 bass age
I just picked up a t40 today used, I'm curios as to the age of the instrument, also its not in great shape, missing parts and such, wondering if anyone knows where to get them.
Re: T 40 bass age
1. Whats your serial number?
2. Look here. Ebay and reverb for parts.

Re: T 40 bass age
I guess it is 4164163, that's on the head stock, is that it or would it be located some place else on the guitar.
Re: T 40 bass age
Never mind, I see here stamped on the back, haha, it's 00689946.
Re: T 40 bass age
Looks like you're in the '81 range.

Re: T 40 bass age
I paid 150 bucks for this bass in unplayable condition, hopefully the electronics are good, I know at least one of the toggle switches will have to be replaced, it's needs 2 new saddles, which I haven't seen anywhere on ebay or reverb and a string tunner. Do you know if there are other compatible parts besides buying vintage?
Re: T 40 bass age
Not off hand. I read a thread in the last few days(i recently got a 40) talking about a compatible StewMac part.
Google is your friend. Lots of good T-40 info available.

Re: T 40 bass age
Not in amazing shape, but as long as the pickups are good I think I did alright at 150.
Re: T 40 bass age
Its cool to get something "like new". But getting something with some mojo is just as cool
Re: T 40 bass age
I agree, I was really excited about getting this bass, and more excited to see how it sounds once I get it up and running!
Re: T 40 bass age
Theres a set of tuning keys on Reverb.
