Fury is older better

Post by Imschneider » Tue Jul 16, 2019 6:06 pm

I have a Peavey bass guitar, I believe was manufactured in either 1983 or 1996. I guess my question is does the age add to the value of the guitar? I am thinking of selling it and would like to know what it is worth.

Finding the age is easy.

1983 will have a single pickup with a slanted angle. It'll have a wide nut too. Serial number will start between 0130 to 0169.

1996 will have a narrow jazz width neck stamped "Crafted in USA". The pickup will be the standard split coil P-bass type. Serial number will start 0890 and above.

Age doesn't really count when selling Furys. MGR has both a 1983 for $199 and a later model for $199.

Most folks prefer the later models because it's a ready made skinny neck P-bass though I reckon many think paying $200 for "Crafted in USA" counts just as much :-)
