sp2 crossover

I'm new to the forum and hoping someone can help me get either
a. a place to buy a cheap replacement passive crossover for an old sp2
or
b. the schematics for building one.
Based on what I've read on this forum I believe the original point is 800Hz. Oh, and if easier, I can certainly live without the bi-amp capability.
Thanks!

There are old SP2's and then there are OLD SP2's. The elder ones with the boogerlip horns were indeed crossed over at 800hz. I believe the next generation moved that point to 1200hz. Marty can chime in here, but I think you would be able to use this on your old ones and still be a decent sounding unit. It crosses over at 1000hz so should still be in the safe range:

You would do well to get an ECS-1800X Crossover (Item #00490200). It is a 2-way passive X-Over and the MSRP U.S. $'s is $119.99.

Thanks for both replies. Undoubtedly either one would be great.
I was hoping for a somewhat less expensive option given the age of this speaker and my uncertain plans for keeping it long.
Any suggestions on a place to find a used one?
And for grins, do you know if the schematic exists and where I might find a copy?
Thanks again.

Well, that's not too far. I invite you to come up to Looneys in Bel Air this Friday or Saturday to check out a big install with PV gear. I believe our very own SemperFi Steve will be coming down on Friday from Philly.

BTW, I own all the equipment at every Looney's. There's one in Maple Lawn, as I'm sure you know. Bel Air is the biggest and is my home base, so, it always gets a little more love.

Tom,
Thanks for the invite but this weekend is overbooked already for me. I would love to see the set up sometime.
