Peavey messenger Pro12

Post by martinfoster » Sat Dec 31, 2016 8:03 am

Hi, I have recently purchased a pair of new "old stock" pro 12 mk11 but I have purchased the 4ohm models. Can anyone tell me if they can be converted to 8ohm & if so how to go about it? Thanks.

You would need to change both Speakers and the Crossover board

Two of them on the same amp would be 4 ohms

Hi, thanks for the reply. My real problem is that I have a pair of 4ohm Eurosys 118 bass cabs & if I link them to the Pro12 speakers it will reduce it to 2ohms & the minimum for my powered mixer is 4ohms. However, I have heard somewhere that the crossover on the subs does something clever so that it still stays at 4ohms?? (sorry for the poor description but I'm not that clued up with this stuff!)

I looked up your speakers, yes the crossover will maintain a 4 ohm impedance to the amplifier when connected as directed and both High & Low speakers are connected together.

Thanks for confirming that, one last question! Do I run the output from the amplifier to the sub & then use the hi-pass output to the pro-12? Thanks in advance.

Hi, try connect the speakon connector (out) at the side of the sub to 2+ / 2-

they always connect this way in Europe,
