I had an older PR12D fail, and am considering replacing the pair with DM112s. I am confused by the specs listed. The PR12Ds list 150w lows and 50w highs with a 2000hz crossover and 120db max output. The DM112s list some sort of 660w 'peak', but 125w lows/80w highs with a 3100 hz crossover but 124db max SPL out. That would be considerably louder max with equal or less power. More efficient drivers? All very confusing, but manufacturer specs frequently are....
I guess what I really want to know is if the newer DM112s go louder without the overdriven 'brittle' sound I would hear from the PR 112s when driven hard at live music gigs.....
Can anyone provide any comparison info.
Compare DM112 with older PR12D?
