Identify resistors on 115 HS horns

Post by Rsloan1 » Sat Aug 05, 2017 6:01 pm

Greetings,
I have a couple of old 115 HS floor monitors that have bad piezos and the soldered on resistors are burnt. They ohm out around 80-95 ohms and are in series with the piezos, any one know what they should be and what the wattage of the resistors should be? I also transferred the woofer and crossover to one of these 115 HS from a SP5 with a blown horn driver and would like to still use the piezo horn and power it from the SP5 crossover. Hooking them up to the SP5 crossover (full range) with out any resistors didn't sound very good, can the SP5 crossover operate piezos.
Also, would it help the sound any if I put some of the poly insulation from the SP5 cabinet in the wedge cabinet?
Any suggestions on how to make what I have work?
