Peavey 15pm (115pm) Monitor 10 years later

Post by Dookie » Thu Nov 28, 2019 10:36 am

I've been running my Peavey 15 Pm monitors for 10 years now. Its funny how fast the time went by. Just wanted to say they are still going strong. Vocals, keyboards, guitars, bass and even some electronic drums. Nothing seems to phase them. Still happy after all these years. Do you have anything that has impressed you through the years even though it is priced in the Value Range?
Sorry the review pictures seem to be gone.

Dookie,

Yeah boy, the PV 15PM is a great Powered Floor Monitor. I use one for my solo acoustic Singer/Songwriter gigs. Great sound and great reliability! (I have a pair and keep one as a backup, but I've never needed to use it.)

For 6-string Acoustic Guitar with piezo pickup, my preferred stage amp is a Peavey Megabass Head (1988) + 410TX Bass Cab (1997). This rig takes pedals well and provides great clarity... plus the low end growl I can't get any other way. In addition to stereo XLR Outputs for FOH, the Megabass Amp also has a 1/4" full-range preamp output on the rear... with a separate volume control for it on the front. This is the perfect output for my PV 15PM. I control my own powered floor monitor from the Megabass without interfering with the onstage 410TX... or the XLR outputs for FOH. Any floor monitor bleed into the audience or vocal mic's just sweetens the overall sound.

I've also had good luck recording from the PV 15PM floor monitor. In my case I use 3 Mic's. I put one SM57 on the monitor... and two mic's on the 410TX cab ( one PVM 520i in front / and one D112 on the rear port.) Worked great.
