Amp Upgrade

Post by base0013 » Mon Jun 12, 2017 5:51 pm

Wanting to up grade from a CS2000H running bridged for a pair of SP 2G's also upgrade for a CS3000H running bridged for a pair of SP118. Would like to upgrade to lighter amps.
Thanks in advance for all replies.

Take a look at the program power of your speakers and then pick amps that will run about 80% of that rating at that load. That keeps you pretty safe.

For the SP2g's, they're 600 watts program so 600 x .8 = 480. The closest match is the IPR2-3000 which is 525 @ 8 ohms in stereo.

You didn't mention what SP118's you have and there have been several generations with several different power ratings. Find out the spec, do the math, pick your poison. :D
